Weekend Reads

This week has been chaotic, to say the least. MF Global’s bankruptcy, the subsequent discovery of $633 million missing from client segregated funds, the freezing of client assets and haphazard margin release solution has industry participants confused and scrambling for answers. Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like any are on the horizon. Add to this a Greek vote of confidence in approximately an hour and a half that could possibly throw all of Europe into tailspin, and you’ve got a marketplace desperate for direction. Many of us will be vigilantly monitoring the situation over the weekend for any clues as to what comes next, but in the meantime, if knowledge is power, here’s an arsenal for you to raid:

  • Everything you need to know about the Eurocrisis in one post (Washington Post)
  • Should Gensler recuse himself over close ties to Corzine? (Business Week)
  • QE3 on the way? If you read between the lines… (Forbes)
  • First new poverty formula since 1964 (CSM)
  • What happens if the Super Committee fails (CNN)
And just for fun…
  • The best Halloween play for parents…. ever. It gets good around 2:18. (Youtube)
